However, it’s a fun and relaxing form of entertainment. Taken that it isn’t over-used, it can help children relax after school, much like using some air tools to do some building. This reduces stress levels, enabling them to do homework with the pressure. In addition, the reduction in stress can help children grow. Studies show that stress impairs the body’s ability to secrete growth hormones, therefore elimination of stress allows the body to grow naturally. All in all, television had positive physical effects, as well as negative ones.
In conclusion, television can be a wonderful or destructive tool that affects our youth. Whether it is good or bad depends on our application of its properties. Moreover, both sides of the story are illustrated in day-to-day life. If we are to prevent the problems associated with television and turn bag into good, we have to be tough on it’s usage. This means banning access of un-suitable programs and moderating it’s usage time.

The public’s interest of a company often leads to the company’s success, and this is reflected in the mystique of Krispy Kreme. Firstly, Krispy Kreme stores are on every continent, so people around the world can enjoy their donuts. Secondly, they have high ethical standards, using the best kitchen faucets so they only use quality ingredients during the unique baking process. This process is shown in a ‘baking theatre’, in which spectators can marvel at how the donuts are created. These reasons show that Krispy Kreme has better marketing potential than Donut King.
Krispy Kreme has always dominated Donut King and always will. Since the beginning, the superior concepts and styles of Krispy Kreme has made it a popular choice for all Australians and the logo will forever shine above us.

In the aesthetics of donuts, Krispy Kreme reigns supreme. The perfect contour of the donut is pleasing to the eye, not to mention the glaze covering that creates a distinct lustre. Behind all this is the easily navigated shop, over which the Krispy Kreme logo flashes. These things are easily recognizable, and easy for sale purposes, and thus show us that Krispy Kreme looks better than Donut King.
That background behind the donut is more illustrious on the Krispy Kreme side. In fact, Vernon Rudolph started Krispy Kreme in 1937, 43 years prior to the creation of Donut King. Vernon Rudolph despised the donuts of his age and intended to revolutionise the industry. He created a family owned business that employed the use of a secret recipe, still unknown to normal people today. Donut King has origins of a subsidiary of a larger company, which is inferior to Krispy Kremes origin.

In the industry of donut making, Krispy Kreme is better than Donut King. The taste is superior and the appearance of the products made by Krispy Kreme adds to the appeal. This essay will also explore how and why Krispy Kreme came to its current position.
The taste of Krispy Kreme donuts is superior to that of Donut King. For one thing, the dough is blended with sugar, making it a sweeter product compared to its heavily fried counterparts. Also here is a thin covering of glaze that moisturizes the donut. This leads to nice texture of the body, which is better than the hard and dry products of Donut King. People choose Krispy Kreme over Donut King as Donut King has many shortcomings in taste. In fact, I remember people at a work holding company raving about how they prefer Krispy Kreme over Donut King.

In addition, television is linked to unhealthy habits such as obesity and poor posture in our youth. The popular habit of eating food while watching television is a huge problem in Australian children. Morris Iemma’s campaign is targeted at this issue, urging children to stop being lazy and exercise, illustrating the depth of this squalor. Furthermore, prolonged periods of slouching, especially while watching television promotes poor posture. While this may not be a serious issue when young, these people are susceptible to back problems on reaching maturity and they may be inclined to take out a health insurance quote just to be safe.
Consequently, television should not be taken for granted.

On the other hand, it is a powerful educational tool. Firstly, it caters to learners of all levels, especially visual and oral learners. Watching educational television is like a lecture and demonstration combined and also includes easy-to-remember diagrams. Secondly, unsafe or expensive demonstrations can be viewed on televisions. In fact, where would many housewives be without television when trying to make some green bean casserole for their family. TV’s ability to demonstrate things in a visual form can’t be beat in these applications such as cooking.
Learning difficulties in for example, nuclear fission could be resolved through viewing of this dangerous process. Lastly, this information source can be accessed from the comfort of your lounge chair. In conclusion, television can serve as a replacement or an enhancer of previous learning technologies.

Is television a bad influence on our youth? A well-known fact is that television can inspire anti-social behaviour, such as violence and swearing and so if our youth is exposed to defective television, we only have ourselves to blame. On the other hand, it is a powerful educational tool, adopted by many schools as an information source. In addition, television is linked to unhealthy habits, including obesity. However, it’s also a fun, relaxing form of entertainment - much like lying around on your very own set of pool floats sipping lemonade while being delivered to you by some hot babe… all you have to do is sit there…
A well-known fact is that television can inspire anti-social behaviour in our youth. In addition, the rising incidences of child crime in New South Wales is linked to increasing percentages of inappropriate television. Out of all children’s programs televised during popular youth viewing periods, one-third of these are deemed unsuitable for general viewing, a statistic channel operators ignore. Furthermore, most televised programs depict sex and violence as tolerable things. The ‘heroes’ of these shows use brutality to achieve their goals, but the ends don’t justify the means. This impairs the child’s ability to tell right from wrong and is more likely to become criminals when they grow up. Also, children tend to imitate what they see. If they witness a violent act on television, they may become influenced to do the same. As a result of this, we must closely monitor our youth and prevent their exposure to unruly acts.

Man… talk about the types of lamps available these days. I was looking through the website over at Farreys.com, and noticed that some of the lamps for sale over at their website are so different and unique to the ones I normally see around my neighbourhood.
I was browsing through their list of table lamps and floor lamps, and noticed that a lot of them were not only very classy, but also very very practical!
Where I live, a lamp mainly consists of a lightbulb attached to an electrical wiring socket, and if im lucky, a lamp shade made our of somebody’s old undies for aesthetic purposes - but the ones available on that website are awesome!
Check it out if your into these sort of things, looking to buy a lamp, or are just plain need of something to do.
They even sell torchieres. The only thing left to do is to find out what torchieres actually are…

Continued on from Part II…
During the course of the novel, the speech of Stanley reveals to us his friendly and accepting behaviour. When X-ray comes to Stanley, asking for the next thing he finds, Stanley agrees, going out of his way to make his friend feel comfortable. While the way he speaks is friendly, it is also unassertive, often incapable of disobeying people’s instructions, for the rough attitudes people display to Stanley gives the impression of dire consequences when the people’s demands are not met. When Stanley writes a letter to his mother, with Zero looking over his shoulder, Stanley pauses to have a short conversation with the mute Zero. Both agree on a deal, in which Zero digs a portion of Stanley’s hole in order to make Stanley feel more relaxed, and Stanley, being fully rested, teaches zero to read afterwards. This proves the fact that Stanley accepts people for who they are, and respects their opinions and differences, even offering to help them.

Once in a while I come across a website that strikes out as simple in design, yet effective in its purpose. I often take these websites as models on which I base my ideas, when creating my own websites.
One such website is cherished number plates. This website allows users to search for privately owned number plates that are for sale, view the pricing of the number plates, and enquire to find out more about them.
Pretty simple stuff, but in this, it effectively allows users to quickly and easily find out if the number plate that they have in mind is available to purchase or not - without all the useless bells and whistles we get from other more complex websites such as government websites or even ebay.
Since you can search the entire database of number plates in one hit, you can be sure that the number plate you want, if available, will be easily to find.

Continued on from part I….
Stanley’s actions play a key role in the development of the story. His actions are trustworthy. One example of this sincerity is when he lines up to get water from the truck, after Zero runs off into to the barren desert. Stanley’s first thought was to steal the truck and drive it to Zero, and he does this, but the result is disaster. The truck is driven into a hole and Stanley flees the camp in search of zero. Stanley is also an agreeable man. When Stanley finds the ‘Mary-lou’ boat, he peers underneath and finds zero, eating a dark goo he found. He calls the goo ’sploosh’ and zero says he found it stored in jars under the boat. He grabs two jars and hands one to Stanley. Zero then starts eating some more, even saying that it tastes like peaches! Stanley doubts the edibility of the ’sploosh’, and wonders if zero was going mad. Stanley summons the will to take a bit of sploosh, finally agreeing with zero that it did taste like peaches. This evidence proves that Stanley is agreeable, and careful not to offend. He first withheld questioning on whether the sploosh was edible, and then, following the trust of his friend, having a swig as well.

I discovered an interesting website the other called 5.11 Tactical which specializes in selling police gear and other paraphenalia, such as pants, gun holsters to outdoor bags etc.
Now, i dont really believe that I will ever have a need for such devices or items, as I do not possess a firearm, or anything related in my household. Nor do I believe anybody in my neighbourhood has such items.
But it does make me wonder a bit what about people in the United States. I watched an interesting documentary by Michael Moore a few years ago about the issue of gun control in the United States. I was really surpised it was such a big topic of dicussion over there.
A few years ago, our prime minister of the time John Howard had a lot of scrutiny about the issue of gun control in the aftermath of the Port Arthur massacre, and I remember a front page picture in the Daily Telepgraph showing the prime minister giving a speed to a very large crowd of gun enthusiasts, while he himself was wearing a hidden bullet proof vest - concealed under his suit by clearly visibly by the outline in the back of his suite. I wonder if things are like that in the united states?
Regardless, 5.11 tactical seems like a pretty decent website, so if you are into that sort of stuff, feel free to check it out.
My disclosure policy.

Throughout the course of the story Holes, the author Louis Sachar carefully develops the character of Stanley Yelnats, the main character in the story through his actions, dialogue, thought and opinions. Firstly, his actions project his sensitive character. Secondly, through his dialogue he reveals to us the accepting nature he projects to people. Thirdly, his thoughts and opinions display his mature, decent approach to life. Characters in books are more than just people; they assist with the development of the story. Physical ability may be affected after playing computer games. For one thing, Repetitive Strain Injury can be contracted during, long periods of gameplay. While gaming, especially when using a joystick, particular muscles are constantly moved, producing strain and harming the player. Also, prolonged gaming induces short-sightedness. People that excessively play computer games can often be seen wearing glasses. Moreover, posture can become distorted. It is advised to avoid playing computer games altogether.
People playing games are advised to go outside and do something physical. Exercise, talking a walk, dribbling the ball, man… even a job at the local promotional items store is better than sitting in front of the computer playing mindless computer games.

Computer games are a waste of time and energy. Abusers of this powerful tool suffer from increased rates of mental problems. Also, physical ability is impaired, as playing games often distorts them players body. Finally, the player’s time is wasted, as computer games so not sum up to anything.
Abusers of computer games suffer from an increased rate of mental problems. Firstly, most computer games expose the player to violent or sexual influences. Most new-release games, such as the controversial Grand Theft Auto series, displays antisocial behavior to players. Secondly, games can be addictive. A member of a South Korean gaming cult died after playing games for 20 consecutive games as a result of game addiction. Thirdly, it reduces the capacity to think creatively. Studies show that gamers have a 40% reduction in creativity.
No need for appetite suppressant drugs, many end up forgoing eating for days to get their ‘hit’ of computer gaming madness…

The fourth and final installment on my blog about Hannibal the Cathaginian:
How and why was Hannibal defeated?
Quintus had a really smart plan. It was to avoid direct fighting against Hannibal with army, But to attack from the sides and back, and to attack the army’s food gatherers, with small portions of the army. The roman emperor later decided that Quintus’s plan would be unsuccessful in the future, and sacked Quintus from his job. The Roman army marched straight into Hannibal’s army and a great loss was caused. The Roman army lost thousands of soldiers. This disaster was later called the battle of Cannae. The roman government employed Quintus again and his plan was followed. His plan was so successful that Hannibal’s army was weakened so badly, Hannibal was driven back and Rome was saved.
So what happened to Hannibal? Well, clearly he wasn’t going back to Carthage with the intension of spending the rest of his days as president of the wine of the month club, he had other intentions. To find out more, check out one of my favourite sources about Hannibal - wikipedia and also your local library!

The third installment on my blog about Hannibal the Cathaginian:
Who led the roman army to defeat Hannibal?
After Hannibal had replenished his army with fierce Gaulish warriors, he swiftly moved his army and attacked the edge of the Roman Empire. The romans were expecting an attack from the south and they had to reorganise their army to defend their empire. While they were marching, Hannibal was causing great damage to the north of the empire and the romans had to devise a way to prevent this from happening again. They hired a dictator, Quintus Fabius Maximus, to help Rome devise a way to deter the Carthaginians from invading the whole of Rome, and to send them packing their luggage home.

This is an extract from my assignment about Ancient rome’s battle formations that I would like to share with blog readers:
Turtle army formation:
This was an army foundation that helped attack enemy forts. It was made by grouping shields in a protective shell. This was an extremely strong formation. Arrows and swords had almost no chance of breaking through the layers of shields. This was very advanced at the time, and played a major part in conquering many nations. It was used for reaching up close to forts or towers. When the army reached their target, the men ran out and attacked the base. People in the tower had no other choice but to run off with their Ju Ju Be diaper bags.
Roman catapult:
The catapult was originally used by Greeks, but romans used the basic idea of the catapult to add extra fortifications. If a battering ram could not break through the wall in the required time, a catapult could be used to crush the desired building over the wall. The catapult was usually made using strong wood. A wide plank of wood was made flat and wheels were attached to help move the catapult over long periods. The projectile carrier could be used to carry heavy boulders or flaming objects. A spring was placed under it and a thick rope was tied on so the catapult could have timed fire.

My obsession with ancient history has again lead me astray and prompt me to write about one of the most famouse mens in the history of ancient europe, the Cathaginian Hannibal…
Why did Hannibal invade italy?
Hannibal decided to invade Italy to compensate the amounts of land lost by his father Hamicar. Hamicar was the former general of the Carthaginian army force and he suffered a huge loss trying to fight the Roman empire. If Hamicar had won, he would’ve prevented their area of Spain from being invaded. Hannibal reclaimed their lost land and took over a major part of Spain called Sanguntam at the time. Sungutam was a friend of the Romans and as soon as the roman consul heard about the invasion, he sent messengers to Hannibal to surrender. Hannibal obviously said no and then started the 2nd Punic war.
If hannibal was alive today, he would probably be a day time tv commercial star, or an car insurance salesman, trying to flog his wares on people. For he was such a great salesmen in convincing his people to wage a war on the mighty romans.
